WERENS ‘WILD FLOWERS’

Werens (Ramon Puig) has been active for more than 25 years in the national and international art scene thanks to his immersion in the world of street art.

His long career as an artist not only covers the various aspects of graffiti, but also mural painting  and other artistic fields such as illustration, graphic design and visual projections.

Werens says “painting graffiti is the best way to bring art to the people, to collaborate with the society we get to be part of, in an attempt to counter the gray and impersonal uniformity of the metropolis and bring life to the most neglected areas of our cities and neighborhoods, trying to make this world a better place.”

In the pictorial exhibition presented this time at Montana Gallery Barcelona, Werens creates a vegetal scenario of artistic beauty, where graffiti writers and artists take the form of small swarms of wasps relentlessly dedicated to sting the entrenched social conventions. While insects come to be the most demanding part of his work, the lush plants with their vigorous and dynamic appearance show their idea of an alive and ever-evolving metropolis.

Inauguration: thrusday 6th of September from 8 pm. Exhibition from 7th of September until 13th of October.
