Yet another sad loss has shattered the New York and international graffiti world. The iconic Stay High 149 aka Wayne Roberts died yesterday (06.11.2011) of liver cirrhosis at the age of 61. The highly respected “voice of the ghetto” has passed away as one of the most important writers of the history of graffiti. His work is one of the earliest dating back to the late 60s and carried a palpable level of innovation in an era in which this mass phenomenon was only in its embryonic stage.
Our heart goes out to his family and loved ones in this difficult time.
Rest in peace Stay High 149.
