‘Sant Jordi’ (St. George) is the patron of the city of Barcelona. The legend from the 11th century tells the tale of how Saint George liberated a town from a dragon by killing it on the same day that the princess was supposed to be sacrificed as an offering. The popular version says that a rosebush grew out rom the blood of the dragon. This is why on the 23rd of April in the christian calendar couples and people in love give away rose to each other. This day is also the International World Book Day, and according to the customs in Barcelona you should give a book back to the one who gave you a rose.
As we have announced earlier, Montana Shop Barcelona celebrated ‘Sant Jordi’, as it is named here in Spain, in a quite special way. Together with the selling of books and roses, Sawe gave his touch to legend of Saint George with a hand made Face-In-Hole board of the knight together with a funny dragon-vandal. A bunch of great photos was made of the people who passed by there yesterday to convert into being a knight for second.Remember that Montana Shop devotes the whole week to editorial culture. Until Saturday you can find interesting bargains on graffiti and street art books with discounts between 10 and 20%.
