Wildstyle writer and artist Blobs has a peculiar way of sketching which turns his process into a authentic ritual.
There is a huge gap between his artwork and his graffiti. Alberto de Blobs, a artist who carries a style of expressionism with strong artistic roots, while at the same time the writer Blobs, aka Blob, Blose, Lose, Slame… is a writer devoted to classic wildstyle with his crew the Wildheadz.
It is through his procedure of sketching where Blobs allows both his artistic disciplines to meet and become art . As much in his paintings as in sketching letters, he uses indian ink and pen, fine materials which usually are not seen in the hands of graffiti writers. This way the developing of the style of the letters moves on to another category and become more comparable to his more artistic works.
The different sources of inspiration when creating his sketches are many for Blobs, but the presence of music is a vital requirement: : “I need music”.
The interesting thing is, that even if Blobs puts a lot of effort into making these sketches they never reach the streets, where he always improvises his works. This aspect makes the ritual of his sketching a completely independent discipline which, at the same time, shows us that the spontaneous creating of his pieces in the street is of the same character as his work on paper.
