The 94 color range has a wide variety of browns to offer. Having so many different shades in one color range makes it so that the ideas for their nomenclatures have different origins, and occasionally, they can be quite spontaneous.
At first, the fact that there’s a brown called Scarlett, does´t tell us a thing. And having another one called Penelope doesn’t say much to us either. But if you put them together you might come to the conclusion that their names refer to Hollywood actresses: the New Yorker, Scarlett Johansson and Penélope Cruz from Madrid.
Beyond the joy or admiration we might get from both of those two artists, their presence in the color chart has to do with the fact that both actresses starred in”Vicky Cristina Barcelona“, the Woody Allen film whose plot unfolds in the same location. It’s a cinematic tip of the hat to Montana Colors’ city of origin, and to the two artists who interpreted their roles and won a small space in our hearts.
And no, Javier Bardem doesn’t have a color named after him.
