TOMORROW… NUMBERS CREW: SINCE BEFORE THE HASHTAG

Numbers Crew was born in the summer of 2006 in Barcelona. The founders, Heart (Finland) and Mentos (Canada), began the crew on a bus ride home after painting a canal wall on the outskirts of Barcelona. The initial idea was 2 paint numbers in word format in different languages for each consecutive piece. That idea didn’t last 2 long, but the idea to have a crew name that was simply, #’s or Nºs stayed until now, 10 years later. During those 10 years, the crew’s roster has included: Ares, Barf, Chamo, Emo, Guano, Havoc, Heart, Hesk, Imos, Iser, Mentos, Nin, Nuek, Omega III, Pyro, Remio, Samo, Sawe, Sens, Seny, Siem, Smuf, Toxic, and Triste.

Numbers, numerot, numeros… however you say it, 1 thing comes to mind. 0123456789. Graffiti is about numbers, quantity, time, repetition.

They are pleased to present their first publication, “Pizza Hug”, a collection of recent photographs and paraphernalia by many of the crew members. The publication is risograph and laser printed on munken, pure cream, 70g paper, contains 48 pages (including cover), and measures 20 x 27.7 cm. They are all hand numbered in an edition of 130. For the occasion they will also presenting 4 t-shirt designs. Two are Numbers prints, and another two are by Roger S. i R. “Pizza Hug” and Numbers tees will be available for purchase at the release party.

Music will be selected from the ample archives of the Numerots themselves, ranging from ragga dancehall to Memphis rap, skweee to chutney.

The Numbers are proud to present their first cassette release, entitled PIZZA HUG. The 40 minute tape includes original compositions from #’s collaborators ΩIII, Kingdon, Matooke and Plom. The compilation is limited to 50 copies and will be of interest to fans of underground dub, off-key techno, ghetto house and electro beats.
