ELBI ELEM, SCULPTURES IN MOVEMENT

Elbi Elem is the new name of the artist we where used to call Labuenaylamala. “Silence” is the name of the first project below his new alias where the kinetic sculptures continues to be his terrain.

“The idea was to create a visual artwork, a undefined vision which is in constant motion starting from a large scale sculpture hanging from above while using its own projection in a free form, ocassionally syncronizing with the original piece.”

“The result takes form through the recording of a video showing the sculpture rotating in front of a white background, to later project it on top of itself again. This way creating the effect of showing three images, shadows and projections through a attractive moire effect in overlays creating a hypnotizing sensation and a infinite abstract landscape.”
