The marker company KRINK Inc. launched a new product called K-12. This brand came about as a result of NYC writer KR´s curiosity. He is an ambassador of the ¨do it yourself¨ attitude, and has always emphasized that the product is hand-made and manufactured in the United States.
It looks a bit like a white-out pen or Pentel ¨Micro Correct¨, which some of you may recognize from school days, and comes with a metal ball point tip and is filled with 12ml. of ink; hence the name. This design can write on almost any surface. The high-quality ink is fast drying and comes in red, violet, black and silver.
A paragraph taken from an interview that the Spanish magazine Serie B (issue #18, 2007) did with KR. Here he talks about how the idea of creating KRINK Inc. came to him.
Krink came about by means to an end. I come from the old school attitude of ¨do it yourself¨. I have experimented, tested, and designed what I thought would be best for me. I made a name for myself in the street by doing what I wanted, where I wanted and when I wanted. Nowadays research for products consists of maintaining superior quality of ingredients and having innovative products which are unique to the market. Krink got popular by word of mouth, not from advertisements. We don´t follow trends.
If I had a cent for every company or designer that tried to imitate our products or our esthetics, I´d have a house in the Hamptons! In such a consumer society and the fast paced global economic environment of today, the integrity, quality, and especially originality doesn´t seem to have much value any more.
