Some days ago we posted a video about Barry Mcgee where were showed some works from his expo at ICA in Boston. The show was opened in the beginning of this month, and we felt we had to show you what it was all about.
The writer and artist aka Twist presented a great variety of installations with all from a totem with 130 screens on, to framed photography and handmade drawings, hobo art, glass broken and ‘animatronic writers’.
The artistic world of Barry Mcgee proposes a explicit view of the culture of tagging, and at the same time it reflects how graffiti shows the materialized contradictions of the western world from the beginning of the millennium.
