HighLights Store in Stockholm recently had a royal visit by one of graffitis biggest names in history, a writer which was there during the dawn of graffiti and kept painting up until the 80’s: BLADE. During his visit he exhibited paintings and signed his new book, which by the way sold out within the first hour due to his rockstar status in the world of graffiti.
Here you can see some pics and a video from the event, an event which was full of conscious messages due to his experience and the loss of old friends from back in the day. The message was clear and directed to the younger generations: “Don’t do drugs, drugs are for suckers” and, “If you paint, use a mask”. We imagine ourselves that the artist knows well that todays paints are not even close to being as hazardous as the ones from the 70’s and 80’s, after so many years of working to find a solution to eliminate the effect on the users health.
