Illustrator and muralist Nathan Evans recently painted his largest and most ambitious mural to date. The huge 30+ meter public artwork, which spans the full length of Leeds Outdoor Market is a hand-painted typography piece reading ‘Hello & Welcome To Leeds’.
“I used the project as a perfect opportunity to collaborate with some local creatives and independent businesses, to create something amazing for the people of Leeds and also the city itself”.
One of Nathan’s most notable collaborations was with local film maker Bokehgo, who he commissioned to produce this short film, documenting the process of painting the mural.
The traditional hand-painted lettering is supported by a vibrant colour palette and precise geometric backgrounds that reflect the modern regeneration coming to that area of the city. The mural is now viewable to the public on George Street, opposite Victoria Gate – Leeds and the new John Lewis development.
