The official Instagram of Montana Colors ended September after having recovered the project MTN IG RESIDENCY. During seven days the Montana Shop & Gallery Santiago de Chile sat down to make a selection of images to give us a closer look of what surrounds them, but not only covering the establishment itself. The content of their quite different sightseeing tour has been divided into seven chapters which stretches between the local scene to large murals and writers from the national scene in general. And, we also get to see material made by foreign artists during their visits on Sanitago territory.
DAY 1. MONTANA SHOP SANTIAGO
This month the Montana Shop & Gallery Santiago turns 6 years old. Located down town Santiago and also with online presence on this store offers all MTN products and has a wall that gets painted by different artists couple times a year. This month we will be charing a lot of material from the dearest projects we have developed over the last 6 years in our ig: @mtnshop_santiago and also the hashtag #mtnchile6aniversario
DAY 2 – MONTANA SHOP TEAM
Wall from the local MTN team in charge of Montana Shop & Gallery Santiago Miel, Tucu and Hesao.
DAY 3 – THE LOCAL WRITERS
Santiago its got a 25+ year old graffiti scene and now a days thats showing, you have every street painted ranging from kids just starting to do their first tags to every other expression or style of graffiti and street art.
You can see some burners from our friends Fisek, Saile, Black and Entes. We have done a series of videos with some of the writers we admire, like this one featuring Teas and this one featuring Nike.
You can check some more on our Youtube channel.
DAY 4 – GRAFFITI ALL OVER CHILE
Chile its a long country with many different scenes spread throughout, here you can see the work from our friend Daniel Marceli in the Chiloe island and a video from Reko in the northern city of Iquique.
DAY 5 – EXHIBITIONS
In the last couple years some new spaces have opened to street art and graffiti like Galería Lira and Galería Cima, doing shows and art projects all over the city with many of the locals.
Pictures from Fisek and Saile expo at Galería Lira.
DAY 6 – BIG WALLS
The project that started MTN-CHILE was a big wall with Inti, Saile and Hes back in 2010 for the Graffiti Porteño Project.
Since then a lot has changed, new spaces opened and now we have big projects like Museo a Cielo Abierto San Miguel and Valparaiso en Colores that have focused on whole blocks and painted big walls but also worried about improving public space on those communities by landscaping around the walls or creating tours generating jobs for the locals.
DAY 7 – GRAFFITI TOURISM
Since we started every year we get more graffiti tourist, being one of the first our good friend Kaput who we made this video with and the latest visitor we had was Remio.
