Honet – JC Earl – 2Shy
“Ugly Cool”.
Opening on Thursday, September 7 at 18h.
Exhibition until November 3, 2023.
None of them is new on the walls of the Montana Gallery Barcelona, but bringing together the work of Honet, Jc Earl and 2Shy serves not only to update us on the creations of these three Parisian artists so different, but also to pay tribute to their long-lasting friendship, whose origin comes, of course, thanks to the passion for graffiti.
Honet is a key player in the European avant-garde of “trainwriting” at the turn of the millennium and a standard-bearer of urban exploration and out-of-the-ordinary travel. His work proposes an emotional vision of the world of graffiti through its particular symbolism and an elegant aesthetic that has become iconic in the urban art of the old continent. JC Earl vindicates the most irreverent and raw art through his sometimes monstrous, sometimes seemingly naive, ceramic sculptures that leave no one indifferent. 2Shy‘s work mixes a childish imaginary, his stylistic evolution in the field of graffiti and the 2.0 revolution in a vibrant universe full of color and spontaneity.
If you missed the photolog “Ugly Cool” now you have the opportunity to enjoy again the adventures of these three artists in an exhibition that shows how, from the common origin of graffiti and friendship, different languages are developed with personalities and dissimilar narratives so interesting.
