The launch tour which has brought the publication ALL CITY WRITERS to various Carhartt shops in Europe, is now at its end, with its last date being in Barcelona. For those that don’t know, the title ‘ALL CITY WRITERS’ (Andrea Caputo, Kitchen 93, 2009) describes the exportation process from New York City to the European continent during the ’80s. The book documents the evolution and consequences of the ‘alternative’ phenomenon which, throughout several decades, provoked a change in the aesthetics and rules of communication in our contemporary society.
Barcelona Carhartt and Montana Colors come together for the launch to offer you two activities on Thursday the 18th of November:
From 7pm to 10pm at the Montana Café (C/ Comerç 4. Metro: Arc de Triomf), you can enjoy an installation of a series of large format photos and a slide show full of polaroids, showing graffiti’s past and present. All of that will be accompanied by beer, tapas, and music from K**O (Desparrame, BCN).
From 11pm to 5am at Marula Café (C/ Escudellers 49. Metro: Liceu) you can round off the evening with a live performance by Downrocks, their first in Barcelona. The rest of the night will be taken care of with sets from Dj Tres (Glue Kids, BCN), and Chelis (Lofi Funk/ ZGZ). Remember; entrance is free before 2am with a flyer, and please, leave your ‘weapons’ at home!
The photo exhibition will remain open to the public in both Montana Café and the Carhartt Store in Barcelona (C/ Rec, 71) up until mid December.
