H101 has sent us a few pictures of shutters painted in the central districts of Barcelona. These are illegal interventions but their artistic component and decorative result allowed for public tolerance and more time for completion than it would be logical for actions in similar circumstances.
It seems pretty obvious, but if you think about it, it’s interesting to see the difference between the barriers imposed by law and civil permissiveness, and how it is affected by a strong aesthetic prejudice generated artificially: had H101 done lettering instead, he would have been promptly reported to authorities. In turn we can make the conclusion that a theatrical approach can be the best camouflage for bombing and presence in the streets.
