‘Tempus’ is the title of Dirty1984‘s first individual solo show. Montana Cafe & Restaurant will show a series of illustrations by Dirty1984, artist and designer from Barcelona, and the subject of the show illustrates the obsession of time passing by.
The opening will be temporarily held during the 7th of June in Montana Colors official restaurant.
It is funny how we have managed to convert something that we ourselves have created into helping us for our own survival, something which is supposed to be a resource for the practicalities in life has transformed into being our own archenemy, we are fans of being in a hurry and time became a creator of stress. Time was created to collaborate with mankind, to be our ally. It was not invented to register the rhythm of our ways of living. None of us ever felt like time is slipping through our fingers?
The paradox of it all is that the minutes, the seconds, the hours, are not real. They don’t exist. We are talking about something created for us by us, to disperse ourselves and our lives as efficiently as possible, but in the end we have become slaves of our own invention.
Other animals doesn’t guide themselves with wristwatches to go about with their everyday survival, they direct themselves by their own biorhythms and instincts. Perhaps we have lost our instincts?
The show will be spiced up with sounds chosen by deejay Esco, who in her turn will delight our eardrums with a great variety of fresh rap music: Arizona iced tea rap, cocaine rap, Bogatell rap, purple syrup rap, chicago drill rap, honey blunt rap, nu-wavvy rap, and probably some Tupac.
