For the writer, Risote’s, first solo exhibition in La Galerie Le Pari(s) Urbain, the platform, Controversy Paris, has released a very interesting promotional video. In it, the Parisian tagger introduces us to his point of view which coincidentally and opposingly compares the graffiti phenomenon to commercial advertising, while he bombs the street using everyday consumer products.
‘A handful of unconquerables resist with great difficulty to the invaders. These are the children of the forced progress, who decide to divert the slogans which surround them for an existential purpose and not a commercial one.‘
‘The mass consumption is mainly based on the maintenance of fears: that is the fear of failing in life, the fear of difference, the fear of not having enough, the fear of theft or of terrorism… Where we are supposed to find terrorism, we find creativity; the inoffensive against the intentional; the impulsive against the premeditated.‘
