Zniart is a book about graffiti which exclusively focuses on pieces on commuter trains in the Barcelona region from a historic point of view. We have mentioned this publication earlier when we posted a update about the 43rd episode of the television program Ritmo Urbano.
Some days ago the books editor published, on the web page of Zniart, a small article about his main reasons and what motivated him to begin this project with details of the books process and other useful information.
We attached some picture samples from the book, and some fragments of the published text.
‘It was clear all the way from the beginning that the book would be about commuters, it seems like a good filter and it had to be focusing on the pieces… the pieces themselves are more than enough to explain this story when published in chronological order.’
‘I spent more than 2 years gathering and retouching material, many hours, kilometers and phone calls… You start with your closer friends, and thats easy, and then you pass on to friends of friends and finally you end up talking to people you don’t even know, it is not easy, but it was really important that as many people possible collaborated in the making, if not it wouldn’t have made any sense.’
