Taking advantage of Musa’s stay in Mexico, we’ve decided to get a bit closer to the interesting crew, VRS (Drain, Arre, Haks, Jazors, Jerp, Peque, Ques, Reten, Rock and Stous). Originally from Guadalajara, these three letters are made up of graffiti styles that are very different to one another, and they can help to give us some insight into the development and extent that style has reached in Mexican graffiti. And what could be a better way to learn a little about this crew than the words of two of its members?
We can not speak for sure about the exact date of creation or beginning, but the training of crew (VRS) started in the late 80s and early 90s, in the “Barrio (V) Rivera (R) Sur (S) “in the colony of Las Juntas in Tlaquepaque, Mexico.
Mark was the primary field, was not much information about graffiti in Guadalajara, was a subject little known. Our first styles were Gothic letters, block style tags and cholo (popularly known). The little information came in magazines Teen Angels;
The great wave of local and national graffiti was unleashed in 1994 with documentaries and news programs on TV that talked about the graffiti in cities like Los Angeles and New York.
The taste for paint and material requirements as we did many other groups, to seek, obtain and make everything that could be used to score (modified valves, paint nuggets, sharpening stones, etc.).
As in all there are changes and thus had the crew from styles, techniques and constituents. Today we are dedicated to teamwork and unite knowledge. We can do things individually, with other groups or teams; Do not consider ourselves an elite group or exclude any group or person, friendship and respect for the ideas of others are key elements in the philosophy of the district, no less no more than the other.
We are fortunate to have members with different studies and crafts, designer, sculptor, stained glass, architect, airbrush, etc.. But all share the same taste for graffiti.
