The analysis that Paw mades about his Three Aces helps us to understand better his style.
I have three daughters, I work as graphic designer and I teach design at university. This means, that my life is quite busy and I have to paint really fast. This piece was done at Mellowpark, a BMX park in eastern Berlin in 2015. I started to paint at eight o’clock in the morning after bringing my daughter to school and before starting work. I remember that I was quite exhausted that day and that I just wanted to bring those three letters on the wall and leave. In the end I really liked the piece and how the letters swing.
This piece was done at the Spielplatz Hall of Fame in Friedrichshain, an eastern Berlin area of Berlin many people know for partying, buying drugs or the fleamarket on sunday. I remember doing this wall with Stereo from Hamburg and More. It was a nice day and a lot of people came by including Shaw, Poet and Chy. What I like about that piece is its complexity and how the different layers of letters and background interact with eachother.
I never liked mixing graphic design and my graffiti writing with eachother. There is no special reason, it just never felt right to me. But some years ago I started to built some pieces using custom scotch tape. Its quite intuitive to work with and you will get fast results and pieces will look really sharp and neat — and I like that. I did this one at the St. Oberholz Co-Working space in Berlin Mitte — a place a lot of startups work at and were SoundCloud was founded. The piece is still there and I see from time to time in some magazines with some startup guys talking about their products in front of it. On the photo you can see a work in progress of that piece together with my Hush.
