To confront the making of new letters is a task which might make a difference between more expert writers and others. Just a good interpretation of the letters nature and some ability to assimilate to the style and its capacities might result in the creation of a both attractive and personal piece.
This is why the changing of name is a resource often used to put your skills to the test, and it is from this which the concept of “exchange” has become part of the graffiti world. The exchange of names made to experiment with your personal style in different conditions is a common phenomenon, but it has never before been presented in a video format.
The British crew Heavy Goods has gotten this idea moving through a series of clips where we get to see each member of the group do their thing, but in the name of their fellow crew mate. In this first edition we follow Skey 79, the crews own Madrid representative.
You really don’t have to be a genius to see that this guy is far from a rookie in the graff game, a fact which he reaffirms in this production made on a mural dedicated to Bogus. The result is a good adaptation in the classic cut wildstyle which is characteristic for him, and especially in the slightly more complicated letters like B and G. We would sure like to see more of these “exchange” episodes, so stay tuned for the next launch to this interesting series.
