The Turkish platform, 232 Artworks was summoned for a decoration project at the Akçaova Institute in the Kocaeli province. The idea of improving the visual aspect of these types of buildings’ standard architecture came from the Erasmus+ project with assistance from the Turkish National Agency. The initiative aims to stimulate the students by means of an aesthetic change.
“Instead of a multicolored, very heterogenous artwork, we chose a bit more of a serious tone to create an elegant aesthetic. We included the geometric shapes that we usually use in our designs. From afar the shapes that are painted on the surface of the facade look organic which is an aspect that we thought was important. The arrival of the cranes accelerated the process making the gradual progress of our work more exciting.”
