“RESISTÊNCIA”, THE NEW WORK BY RESKATE AT MILESTONE FESTIVAL

The Reskate Studio collective has taken part of the artistic line up for the festival Milestone which very year is held in Girona, Catalunya. The team made up by Maria López and Javier de Riba has once again gone to work with the photoluminescent paint products of Montana Colors in its basic state, without having been bottled in aerosol. This enormous production was dedicated to the legend of the flies of Sant Narcís, the patron saint of Girona. A new and dynamic work which shows its true nature after nightfall…

The most well-known legend in Girona (Catalonia)is that of the flies of Sant Narcís. The French troops laid siege to the city several times throughout history. In the  incursion of 1286 they profaned the sepulchre of Sant Narcís releasing numerous flies that attacked and expelled both French soldiers and their horses. In successive sieges the flies reappeared to defend Girona.

Whereas the legends of other cities feature dragons or lions, people from Girona have glorified this little and apparently insignificant being that manages to confront their invading forces.
