‘7 WAYS 2 LOVE’, FROM WAONE TO MARIO MANKEY 

Next Tuesday the “7 Ways 2 Love” project will resume with its next episode in a saga of original art interventions dedicated to love. Metric Market in Barcelona invites us to its unique  artistic ceremony with Mario Mankey, an interesting Spanish artist whose work transcends the limits of street art to which we are accustomed. Having seen the interactive proposals from previous artists, it’s intriguing to imagine what Mario Mankey’s heart-wrenching style has in store for us for this next date.

While we’re waiting anxiously for that day, we’d like to take the opportunity to review the previous event by Waone; one half of the celebrated art collective, Interesni Kazki.
Staying true to his dream-like style, the Ukrainian delighted visitors with a disturbing representation of the conception of love. Through his intricate textures done in MTN Street Ink, giving an engraving-like effect, Waone left his codified symbolism on the subterranean walls of Metric.

The connection that this generated amongst spectators was such that even some guests found it difficult to contain their erotic impulses…

As an interactive game, each attendee was presented with a glass that included a character designed by Waone himself. Then, each person had to find another attendee at the opening with the same design on their glass in order to ritualistically be granted with a traditional cup of Ukrainian soup, as it it were a magical potion. The connection that this generated amongst spectators was such that even some guests found it difficult to contain their erotic impulses…
