Have you seen the Serio and our Stockholm MTN System video on Instagram?
Do you know the story behind the C14 model?
Get ready because the train has arrived. The old blue Stockholm metro that birthed so many graffiti stories rode for the last time on February 10, 2024; another thing that leaves us in 2024 and will not be forgotten.
The C14 had 6 cars in total, semi-permanently connected in twos.
It was blue with a white line, but it wasn’t always like that.
The first car was green, and if you are lucky you can still see it parked in the famous “Stockholm Cave” or see it running at night between yards, loaded with workers.
It can reach speeds of 80km/h and each car can seat 48 people.
Although it is no longer in circulation, it has not disappeared completely, because the Stockholm Railways have saved an old C14 car for the city’s railroad museum, and two for the subway workers to get around.
Two cars have also been kept for fire drills and will be stored in an unknown location in Stockholm, in addition to 12 more cars for the private line known as Saltsjöbanan, where they will be refit to the specifications of that line.
All these data points are very interesting, although the ones we would love to have are: How many pieces have been made on those trains?
With Serio’s tribute we say goodbye to a great model.
