A goodbye has never been so much fun. A huge crowd turned out at Comerç Street number 4 in Barcelona to say goodbye to El Montana Cafè Restaurant.
Few of the events at Montana Café Restaurant have not been a success, yet the true blowout occurred during its own closing ceremony.
After 15 years next door to MTN Shop Barcelona, the MTN bar-restaurant is finally closing its doors with a loud farewell, led by our foolproof Dj Chusbu.
Although the free drinks and the discount at MTN Shop Barcelona were enticing, many decided to pull up to say a final farewell over beers and chitchat. The raffles managed to catch the attention of the guests somewhat, but everything went down the drain when markers were passed out.
The whole thing nearly got out of control when one of the most buzzed attendees tagged up with an Astro Fat. Fortunately the emcee seized the aerosol and then shot a flare into the air.
A tag on one of the walls led to the attendees tagging the walls of the venue in a kind of improvised farewell ceremony to the rhythm of hip-hop from the 2010’s, precisely the year in which the business started.
The plague of tags spilled out onto the street, much to the delight of the neighbours, who called the town hall for a buff the next day. Once the hangover had gone away, everyone was left in peace. After this Viking burial, we can all but wonder who our next neighbour will be!
