Exhibition from September 1 to October 28, 2022, Montana Gallery Comerç 6, 08003 Barcelona (El Born).
Alonso Alcalde is a visionary who left his native Chile at the end of the 90s to follow his passion in what was then the European Mecca of graffiti: Barcelona. Trains, abstract graffiti and photography are an inseparable part of his personality.
Alonso Alcalde creates day and night; on metal, wood, methacrylate, paper and, more poignantly, on huge metal beasts that move in the dark through the fascinating silence of tunnels and train yards. To bring his work to the gallery, he composes and associates materials with moments, colors with calligraphy, generating a fusion of technology and art.
This exhibition presents a vision, a way of life, a fragment of the artist himself.
After the tremendous success of his book, “Patiperro”, on September 1, 2022, the artist will exhibit his latest works in a synthesis that represents his vision of graffiti with the aim of bringing it closer to a loving, curious and interested public through collages and “drollages” that the artist composes and decomposes.
It addresses the people of the sacred inner circle, but also those outside it, offering a glimpse into the ins and outs of his world of spray painting, travel and companionship. “Meraki” is his first exhibition at Montana Gallery Barcelona.
