Photographer is the label that encapsulates the name, Enrique Escandell. All you have to do is google his name to know his special talent for capturing images. This talent that has now been consecrated with the publication of his book, “Subterráneos“.
However, Enrique Escandell is much more than a hunter of moments. His ability to find artistic perspectives through images goes beyond camera’s lens. Explorer, detective, writer; this is the mixture of different personalities that causes him to be obsessed with explaining why metros are painted, and it allows us to understand the magnitude of this “photographer’s” work.
After visiting several exhibition spaces, Enrique Escandell has finally made a stop at Montana Gallery Barcelona to remind us that aesthetic virtuosity isn’t always presented on canvas.
Documentation, sculpture, abstraction and, of course, spectacular photographs, are the elements that construct his universe of visual poetry. He transports us to a dimension that reveals the most transcendental, artistic side that lies hidden within the purest, most criminal form of graffiti that exists.
