GLAM
“Lima Maldita”
Opening on Thursday 5 September at 7PM
The streets of Lima, Lima Maldita, are hostile territory for anyone who sets foot on them. The chaotic city, full of lights and noise, never sleeps and never forgives. Eccentric characters, corrupt police, hellish traffic, and the gray layer we call a sky, culturally inspire the body of work created by Glam, an inflatable tag in Lima’s collective imagination, who has conquered the city from end to end against all odds.
The word “Glam” plays a sarcastic game if read from the perspective of the city, and in this collection of unique works, one can appreciate the reflection of inflatable pieces in the city’s imagination, like mototaxis, the invaded dirt hills, witchcraft signs, and chicha culture posters, where the artist combines her feelings with the city and makes it her own using her style.
Graffiti is transgression, it’s territory, it’s winning, it’s presence and persistence. And all of this is reflected in the work that Glam has been developing for years.
This artistic facet shows an analytical side of the meaning of “Cursed Lima” and the development of a graphic language.
With more than a decade of activity, Glam is a lover of letters and travel, leaving her mark on the streets around the world.
