Yandy Graffer “La fuente de la vida a través de los años luz“
From January 28 to March 25, 2022.
Opening on Thursday, January 27 from 18h to 21h.
Yandy Graffer is a multidisciplinary artist from Lima (Peru) who starts in graffiti in 2006 before starting to make large expressive and colorful murals. Yandy settles in France in 2017 where his work evolves and receives great recognition.
Inspired by his culture, his family identity and his childhood memories, Yandy develops a dreamlike work that proposes a reflection on the origins of life before creation.
In this exhibition at Montana Gallery Barcelona, Yandy Graffer offers his vision of these last years in which the artist seems to create a real parallel world. Based on a mixture of his origins, his dreams, his memories and his hopes, he gives rise to recurring characters that evolve and transform in his canvases and drawings. His main trigger: the Peruvian culture in which he grew up. His works refer mainly to his fisherman grandfather and the sea, giving rise to fantastic characters such as the “fruit fish”.
